Elderly twin sisters Tilly and PenPen Menuto are happy living in the bear-infested woods of Maine. Their isolation ends when a distant cousin dumps her thirteen-year-old daughter on them. Adults in the story are not necessarily nice or wise or loving--and neither are the children. They are, however, multi-layered and surprising. More accumulation than narrative, this is for those sophisticated enough to enjoy a less conventional story.
