Her father was the country’s president and backed conservation efforts. She became a diplomat who educated world leaders about the threat of climate change. A huge conference she organized led to many different countries vowing to work together to improve the planet. The colored-pencil and marker illustrations are a bit cartoonish, but Engle’s simple prose may inspire future environmentalists.
