Animal Acrostics

(4) 4-6 Illustrated by Michael S. Maydak. A stacked series of words describes an animal, with the first letter of each word spelling out the creature's name. The acrostic poems range from eloquent to forced. Grouped by habitat, the animals are depicted, somewhat confusingly, as all the same size in the average-quality color illustrations. A few lines of informational text are included, and a lesson in creating acrostics is appended. Glos.
