He hides the fact and tries to repair the glass bird, then he makes a replacement ornament. In the end, he owns up to his mistake, and his grandmother forgives him. The English-Spanish bilingual text's lesson isn't subtle, but the warm-toned illustrations help soften the heavy-handedness.
