(4) 4-6 This atlas presents Earth from a far-overhead perspective so that the planet's image is spherical and provides a more accurate representation than a flat map. The preliminary pages contain information on the planet's dimensions, population, and climate--all well-explained in the text and helpful illustrations. The maps in the later half of the book are well rendered, but the accompanying information, supplemented by photos depicting specific cultures, is skimpy and pedestrian. Ind.
