Cooper, Floyd

Cumbayah

(3) PS The well-known folk song has been illustrated in Cooper's unique pastel style with contemporary scenes set in different countries. While the book has a message rather than a story, Cooper pulls it off because no one is better at faces. His compassionate eye shows the beauty of individuals and seems to hint at a story behind each face. A note explains the origins of the song, and piano and guitar music appear on the endpapers.
