Translated by Ann Garlid.
A lonely red-and-white-striped sheep sets off on a quest to find a place where being different "felt just right." The journey takes him to the seashore, where he connects with a similarly colored lighthouse. This ending to the differences-are-okay story is confusing, but Koch's careful, horizontally spacious (the book is eighteen inches wide) art quietly captures her character's solitude and eventual peace.
