INTERMEDIATE FICTION
Messner, Kate

Eye of the Storm

(4) 4-6 Massive tornadoes and storms are part of life in this near-future world, and even the daughter of a brilliant storm scientist knows she can't stop them. A horrific (but obvious) discovery about her dad's research, a reappearance of a diabolical relative presumed dead, and precocious children's flat dialogue are drawbacks, but Messner's rich and haunting descriptions of the storms are compelling.
