The text can be disorganized and difficult to follow, despite the simple, accessible vocabulary and sentence constructions. Wonderful nature photographs make the books visually appealing, but the captions are inconsistent. Though potentially useful in a classroom, these are supplemental. Ind. Review covers these Buddy Books: Habitats titles: Deserts, Forests, Grasslands, Lakes and Ponds, Mountains, and Oceans.
