My First Raggedy Ann: Raggedy Ann's Wishing Pebble

(4) K-3 Illustrated by Jan Palmer. In this adaptation of a 1925 story, Raggedy Ann and Andy find a wishing pebble, only to have it stolen by the nasty Minky for his own selfish use. Minky soon learns that the pebble "only brings good things when you wish for something nice for others." The watercolor and ink illustrations are true to the (appropriately) dated feel of the story without being overly cloying. This sentimental story will appeal to collectors.
