Each of this book's nine chapters tells the story of a Colombian teenager involved in the Children's Movement for Peace, a coalition sponsored by UNICEF. Faced with years of war and violence inside and outside their homes, these young people remain largely optimistic, though they candidly acknowledge the hurdles they face. Wisely, the tone is restrained, though the result is sometimes formulaic.
