Princess, Princess

(4) PS A spiteful fairy enchants a young princess at her birthday party in a story only loosely based on the traditional Sleeping Beauty. In Dale's simple text, the fairy eventually has second thoughts about her tantrum, kisses the princess herself, and the two become friends. Dale's fanciful, delicate illustrations have appeal, but the poetic text is slight and has little connection to the familiar fairy tale.
