Decorating himself with dandelions, lily pads, blueberries, and red-clay mud, he soon learns that bright colors aren't the only thing beautiful about springtime. Despite the trite message ("We are all different colors, and we are all beautiful!"), there's some appeal in the large-scale illustrations.
