(3) K-3 Illustrated by Stacey Chomiak. In this counting book, a boy who enjoys wearing colorful clothes puts them aside because "they make me different." His mom invites him to a place where “everyone is a rainbow.” At a Pride parade with his parents, he counts symbols of pride such as “FOUR boys in sparkly dresses” and “EIGHT signs with LOVE IS LOVE.” Although some of the dialogue is a bit stilted, the positive message is conveyed effectively, and the illustrations show the beauty of diversity.
