Yet when Papa gets sick on Halloween, Mama accompanies Anya and her siblings as they go trick-or-treating. The bright illustrations convey traditional Halloween fun; the wordy text is rather slow. The concluding material for parents and teachers unfortunately turns this story into a lesson plan.
