Sparky's Bark / El ladrido de Sparky

(4) K-3 Illustrated by Viví Escrivá. When Lucy visits America for the first time, she feels awkward because she doesn't know English. She can't even communicate with her cousin's dog: "'Por favor, Sparky,' I say politely. But he jumps higher..." The story, told in both English and Spanish, is wordy and the illustrations look wooden, but the sprinkling of Spanish phrases throughout the English text is smoothly done.
