He scoffs when his mama suggests he draw instead of scream but soon discovers (after losing his voice) that drawing can be fun. Cheery, Lion King–like illustrations and a swift-moving (if obvious) plot do tired parents a solid, suggesting to a child that fun can be had quietly.
