(4) K-3 Story by Judy Dunn. Emmy takes care of a newborn lamb named Timothy, whose mother doesn't have enough milk to sustain him. Readers see Emmy cuddling the lamb, feeding him with a bottle, bathing him, and frolicking with him until Timothy is old enough to rejoin the flock. Though the story's a bit wordy, its old-fashioned simplicity is appealing. Surprisingly, the photographs don't look too dated.
