When Wylie follows with Cassie's boyfriend, the three get caught between rival factions wanting to weaponize the ESP-like emotional intelligence of "Outliers" (like Wylie). While somewhat overly complicated and frequently implausible, the thriller-movie plot is engrossing. Wylie's agoraphobia and extraordinary intuition make for an unusual narrative perspective.
