Bad guy Belch goes straight to hell, but Meg's fate in the afterlife is more uncertain. She is given the opportunity to redeem herself by returning to earth and helping Lowrie achieve some of his final wishes. The familiar plot contains sitcom elements, but the slick story moves quickly and agreeably.
