The Year I Didn't Go to School

(3) K-3 Children's book illustrator Potter describes the year when she was seven and her puppeteer parents took her and her sister to Italy to live as street performers. Potter's quirkily episodic account concentrates on details that will appeal to a young readership, and her intriguingly detailed illustrations are bracketed by endpapers containing excerpts from Potter's actual journal of that formative year.
