Magic spells don't help, so Winnie and Wilbur climb onto the roof to search for the dragon's mother. The story is entertaining if not particularly memorable. Shadowy, detail-rich illustrations are punctuated with splashes of color (Winnie's purple nightie, Wilbur's pink nose).
