A new kid sets out to capture a ghost for show-and-tell. Readers may enjoy spotting the ghost in various places, such as in a hot air balloon and on a clothesline, before the child notices it. But once the spirit is captured, the child feels sad and lets it go, managing to snag a key piece of evidence in the process to show their classmates. This humorous take on a ghost story is enhanced by Wilson’s expressive chalk pastel and acrylic paint illustrations that were “layered digitally.”
