In this Nigerian folktale, Sun invites Ocean to visit him and Moon in their bamboo house on earth, but although Sun makes the house much bigger, Ocean still overflows everything, forcing Sun and Moon to jump up and live in the sky. The tale is well paced and well told, and the dreamy, muted oil illustrations show intriguing details.

Princess Raina's suitors must attempt to scale a glass mountain, but when Raina accompanies her favorite on his climb, she falls down into the realm of Old Rinkrank, where she remains imprisoned for a long time. After escaping, Raina shows a special sympathy for caged creatures. Delicately colored illustrations complete this adaptation of a Grimm Brothers' tale, for which Wolkstein provides a new ending.
