(4) YA Selection series. Illustrated by Suy Sandra. Several vignettes set before and during events of Cass's Selection series provide windows into the romantic lives of other characters, including Amberly, Maxon, Aspen, and Marlee. Some of the stories and chapters end abruptly, and while series fans will be happy, newcomers will be confused by the lack of background information. Nonspecific black-and-white illustrations of attractive men and women in lavish formalwear are included.

(4) YA Illustrated by Sandra Suy. Vintage-clothing-lover Louise's third time-traveling adventure takes her to the Old Hollywood set of Cleopatra; then, inadvertently, to ancient (and dangerous) Egypt, where the real Cleopatra is her boss. There, Louise sees some spectacular sights and fashions, as demonstrated in Suy's full-page color illustrations. The plot is formulaic and the writing lackluster, but fans will enjoy learning about these two stylish periods. Reading list.

When Louise tries on a dress at another Traveling Fashionista Vintage Sale, she's again whisked back in time, here to eighteenth-century Versailles; she experiences a culture of privilege and excess as a companion of the ill-fated Marie Antoinette. Fashionista readers may overlook the awkward writing and enjoy the lengthy descriptions (and colorful illustrations) of beautiful dresses. Reading list, timeline, websites.

(4) YA Illustrated by Sandra Suy. After trying on a gown at a "fashionista vintage sale," seventh grader Louise finds herself aboard a fancy 1900s ocean liner. She's delighted to be mistaken for, and wear the clothes of, a wealthy actress--until she realizes she's on the Titanic. The writing is stiff and the story line predictable, but full-color illustrations and similarly colorful clothing descriptions will appeal to fashion lovers.
