Samira and the Skeletons

(4) K-3 Samira is horrified to learn that everyone has a skeleton inside themselves. The concept is clever, and Kuhn's pencil and digital illustrations strike a balance between creepy and funny, rendering characters with wide eyes, over-emphasized teeth, and huge heads against muted backgrounds. However, the prose is sometimes awkward and the slightly morbid climax may leave readers feeling unsettled.
