The Wind That Wanted to Rest

(4) K-3 Illustrated by Neil Waldman. An "old and tired winter wind" needs a place to rest. Everywhere he goes he is shooed away, until he grows frustrated and angry. A girl hears the wind's cry and finds him a resting place. The bluish purple hues help personify the wind's exhaustion and anger, while the softness of the watercolors enrich the folklore-styled story of compassion, which isn't especially child-friendly.
