In Dale's fifth Dinosaur romp, every spread shows a stage of the dinosaur pirates' journey, with each sentence building on the last: "Pirate dinosaurs sailing. / Sailing across the sea. / Across the sea in their pirate ship." The prehistoric swashbucklers find buried treasure and fight off a band of robber raptors. The patterned text and bold, high-energy illustrations will help preschoolers follow the read-aloud adventure.

The detailed illustrations showcase colorful dinos performing pre-flight checks, zooming through space, and playing moon soccer. From liftoff to splash down, this crew continues to provide read-aloud adventure. Mission accomplished.

A rhythmic, patterned text urgently tells of a dinosaur train's collision course with a truck stuck at a railroad crossing. "Rescue dinosaurs rushing. / Rushing to get there in time... / before it's too late!" Dinosaurs, rescue vehicles, and the thrill of the near- (but averted) disaster will have preschool hearts pounding. In her latest dino/transportation mash-up, Dale's energetic illustrations feature colorful prehistoric creatures and their action-ready vehicles.

This new take on the popular sing-along song is a hybrid of "Wheels on the Bus" and "Old MacDonald." A little boy drives his bus around the countryside picking up farm animals along the way and cheerfully delivering the refrain, "Who wants to ride on the bus?" Quiet, friendly pencil and watercolor illustrations keep the animal cacophony under control.

A spiteful fairy enchants a young princess at her birthday party in a story only loosely based on the traditional Sleeping Beauty. In Dale's simple text, the fairy eventually has second thoughts about her tantrum, kisses the princess herself, and the two become friends. Dale's fanciful, delicate illustrations have appeal, but the poetic text is slight and has little connection to the familiar fairy tale.

A young boy looks for his nine stuffed animals, who have hidden themselves throughout the cozy bedroom and kitchen, in a friendly pre-bedtime game. The animals disclose their hiding places to the careful observer with a tail here, a paw there, but they are still hidden well enough to make the search interesting.
