Restricting herself to the four words of her title, Gravett uses them in a number of inventive combinations. The lumpish, guileless bear seems just as engaged by the wordplay as the reader is. The sketchy-edged watercolors on square white pages are inspired rather than limited by the book's minimal text. The pictures have a fresh spontaneity yet reflect careful deliberation.
