Eleven-year-old Fairday has just moved away from her best friend and Detective Mystery Squad companion, Lizzy. Moreover, she's moved into Begonia House, which is clearly haunted. Through somewhat hackneyed discoveries, Fairday, Lizzy, and new classmate Marcus investigate what happened to Ruby Begonia there more than fifty years ago. Black-and-white illustrations support the spooky setup of this run-of-the-mill paranormal mystery.
