Commemorate Black History Month 2022

During #HBBlackHistoryMonth, we look back on the articles, speeches, interviews, and reviews from the Horn Book's past year that are by and/or about African American authors, illustrators, and luminaries in the field — one a weekday through the month of February. For example, there's our Five questions for Frank Morrison about Above the Rim: How Elgin Baylor Changed Basketball and last year's Black history, American history booklist. Speaking of booklists, we've reviewed so many other picture-book biographies of noteworthy African Americans within the last year that we felt it was important to highlight them below for sharing all year long. And for even more recommended titles, click on the subject tag African Americans.
