Daniel Miyares.
A young fox hunts in the snow and looks for a vixen whose scent he's detected. A hungry wolverine chases him back to his den, where he settles down for the night. Occasional rhyming words and alliteration add richness to the text, and ink and watercolor illustrations capture the winter light and animals' movement.

Living Wild series.
The stunning photographs in these books complement the informative texts, focusing on one animal per volume. Appearance, habitat, diet, behavior, conservation efforts, and presence in human culture are all addressed in great detail, while sidebars provide additional information. Although lengthy chapters and the absence of a table of contents makes quick referencing difficult, thorough indexing helps to mitigate this drawback. There are four other fall 2014 books in this series. Bib., glos., ind. Review covers these Living Wild titles: Brown Bears, Beavers, Wild Horses, and Wolverines.

Animales carroñeros series.
This series provides graphic, sometimes gory details about the lives and habits of different scavengers, here focusing on wolverines (Glotones) and vultures (Buitres). Most of the vivid photographs are not for the weak of stomach (e.g., vultures tearing apart a dead zebra), though pictures showing the babies are cute. The Spanish translations are acceptable. Reading list. Glos, ind. Review covers these Animales carroñeros titles: Los buitres and Los glotones.
